Is there anything better than a doughnut? Well, yes, a healthy doughnut with a low-calorie count! We were delighted to recently welcome Halos and their healthy steamed doughnuts back to the Picture Perfect Photography studio, for a full day of shooting.

Having worked with Halos earlier in 2022, they knew exactly what level of quality to expect from working alongside our principal photographer Collette, and with a social media campaign to shoot for ahead of their launch into Asda stores, it was an easy decision to send their healthy, low-calorie to our Barnsley studio.

Halos steamed doughnuts are a relatively new brand to the shelves, but they have made waves in the healthy snack market, having gained some really publicity on socials for their delicious low-calorie sweetness.

We had three of their flavours in the studio, along with a food stylist, and had plenty of fun creating bold, bright and colourful imagery from the chocolate, salted caramel, and chocolate orange doughnuts. These have now made it to the shelves of Asda, and we were delighted to be a part of such a great campaign.

There were plenty of different types of product photos that we needed to capture, which meant that time management was our big challenge. We needed to fit into the full day shoot, so a detailed and organised plan was key to ensuring the session would be a success.

We worked with our client to create an extensive shoot plan and mood board ahead of the photography session, communicating with Halos at every step to ensure their confidence in our plan, and satisfaction with our execution of the brief.

The images have now been used extensively across the Halos socials, and there are some awesome behind-the-scenes videos that showed some of our creative process that we think you’ll really enjoy.
