With professional food styling
The team really enjoyed creating these commercial food photography images of varying themes and dishes for our portfolios. On this food shoot I worked with professional food stylist, Danny Barnett to create professional food photography of pate, salmon, toasts with toppings and a variety of drinks.
There was lots of planning that went into this set of food images, mainly by Danny. Check out our behind the scenes blog to see his mood board sheets, they really are next level. There you can also see some behind the scenes videos.
The food photography took place in the Picture Perfect Photography studio in Barnsley. Limitations were that we didn’t have a fully functioning kitchen, all we have is a microwave and a fridge, and so Danny brought his portable electric hobs along with pans and utensils that he needed to cook with.
As with any commercial food photography, in addition to the food being styled and presented in an appealing way, props are really important. Props and also photography backgrounds help to set the tone for a food photo. The food images that you see below are an accumulation of everyones input with regards to styling.
Each photo took around 1.5- 2hours to create and tweak. In commercial food photography we believe that attention to detail is really important.
