3 Content Mistakes Wellness Brands Make in Q1 (And How to Fix Them)

Q1 is make or break for most wellness brands. New year. New launches. Big campaigns. Everyone’s focused on health, fitness, and feeling good.

But I see the same content mistakes every January. Brands scrambling for assets. Launching products with nothing to post. Playing catch-up when they should be executing.

Here’s what to avoid, and how to fix it before January hits.

Mistake 1: Waiting Until January to Shoot Your Wellness Brand Content

Everyone does it. “We’ll sort content in the new year.” Then January hits. You’re launching a product. Running ads. Pushing a campaign and you’ve got nothing new to post and you’re panicking for assets while your competitors planned ahead.

Here’s the thing, December is when smart brands shoot. January is when they execute and if you’re reading this in December, you’ve still got time. Book a content day now and start Q1 with a full bank of assets ready to go.

Mistake 2: Only Shooting Product (And Ignoring Founder-Led Content)

Product on white background. Product on marble. Product next to a plant. It’s fine. But it’s not enough.

Where’s the founder? Where’s the lifestyle content? Where’s the UGC-style video that actually converts? People don’t connect with products. They connect with people using products.

Founder-led content outperforms corporate content every time. I’ve seen it with the wellness and supplement brands I work with. The posts with faces, stories, and real people always win. If your content bank is 90% product shots, you’re missing what actually sells.

Mistake 3: No B-Roll Bank for Your Q1 Content Strategy

You need a video for an ad, a reel for a launch or content for a collab and you’ve got… nothing usable.

B-roll is the content you don’t think you need until you desperately need it. Walking shots. Pouring shots. Hands on product. Lifestyle moments. Behind the scenes.

One shoot can give you months of B-roll to pull from. Most brands don’t think about it until it’s too late.

When I shoot with wellness brands, I always capture a bank of B-roll alongside the hero content. It’s the stuff that saves you when you need something quickly for a story, an ad, or a last-minute post.

Don’t Start Q1 Behind

These three mistakes cost wellness brands time, money, and momentum every January.

The brands that win Q1 aren’t more creative. They’re more prepared. If you want to start 2026 with your content sorted and not behind, book a December content day.

One shoot. Three months of content. January to March sorted.
